It’s been a busy couple of months juggling commercial projects and starting new paintings. I just finished my third children’s book this year, and I think that’s it for awhile. My next big show is at Last Rites Gallery this September, so I need to finish up a batch of new paintings for that. I’ll post updates when I can.
First up though is Yuri’s Night 2009 this weekend at the Warehouse. My contribution is “Boldly Going.” Buy your tickets NOW! It’s going to be a huge event with an abundance of spacey craziness and featuring lots of great art, burlesque beauties, music, drinks, and more. Alas, we’ll be in Las Vegas next weekend and miss all that fun, but we’ll be busy creating our own.

Lots of other news from the last few months. I had this small drawing in the group show “Everything but the Kitschen Sync” show at La Luz de Jesus. I’m happy to say it was sold right away to an amazing fellow artist, Richard Frost.

I mentioned here previously that I’ve been working with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) the last year or so, but I haven’t posted any images. Here’s the latest. They’re all for WWE Kids, a new magazine aimed at the younger fans. They’re great fun for me as well. This one features Kane and Batista. I wasn’t much of a fan before, but I’m getting to know all the guys now. This is also the first one I did entirely digitally on my tablet. I’ve also started finishing up the children’s book illustrations digitally as well. Click to enlarge and find the 10 hidden objects.
The objects are:
Starfish
Fish bones
WWE Championship Belt
Pirate Hat
Walrus
Fishing Pole
Batista Logo
Octopus
Dragon Tattoo
Eye patch
Your art is fabulous, insane, and touching. I’m just so wowwed and touched and unable to say anything that isn’t cliche.
Hello!
I love your stuff! The expressions on your character’s faces are great!
